Find out how you can naturally whiten your armpits

Dark spots in one’s armpits affect many men and women. Although it is not a disease or a risky problem, it is something that embarrasses many people.

This pigment is very common among people who have type-2 diabetes because insulin reacts with the skin and it creates more melanin, which causes areas of the skin to become darker.

If you have not been diagnosed with diabetes,  you should be aware that this may be related to:

  • Addison’s disease
  • Hormonal change in a pregnancy
  • An unusual increase in insulin production
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Allergies
  • Irritation

If you are overweight,  dark spots in the armpits can be caused by excessive rubbing on the skin. In that case, it is known as hyperkeratosis.

This condition makes it difficult for one’s armpits to find relief from irritation, pressure, and swelling caused by rubbing in the area.

While this is a problem that can cause a great deal of shame, one should be aware that there are some ways it can be treated.

Choose your favorites from the following:

Lemon juice

The juice from this fruit is very useful when it comes to dark spots in one’s armpits. It is a remedy that is extremely easy to use since all you have to do is rub half a lemon on the area.

You can use it as often as you need.

After each use, one should avoid using deodorant and any other product with chemicals. You do not have to worry about bad smells, because the citrus fruit acts as a natural deodorant.

Also remember to  avoid exposure to sunlight. The same properties that whiten the skin can counteract it.

Yogurt

The vitamins and fatty acids in yogurt are very useful for one’s skin. They can minimize the pigmentation found in these dark areas and heal any damage to the skin.

Just apply two tablespoons of yogurt on the affected area and wait 15 to 20 minutes before removing it.

Then apply your regular deodorant.

A good tip is to use the lemon after the yogurt. This will enhance the effect of both treatments.

Exfoliate your armpits

Exfoliation of the skin in the armpit can help gradually but steadily remove pigmentation.

This is because the dark color can be caused by the accumulation of dead skin cells.

Any type of scrub for the body can be used, but we recommend using a natural scrub. Depending on what you choose, you can use it one to three times a week.

After getting rid of the dark color, one  should continue to scrub once a week.

Pasta of rice flour and vinegar

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons rice flour (20 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar (20 ml)

Course of action

  • Make a paste with rice flour and vinegar and put it on your armpits after a hot bath.
  • The paste is not a scrub, so you can apply it as often as you like and let it sit for 20 minutes. After that time, rinse with warm water.
  • This is a very effective treatment because the  acid in the vinegar destroys the bacteria that nourish the dead skin cells.
  • Apply this paste at least once a week and you will find that your skin tone will be even in the end.

Cucumber and turmeric

Ingredients

  • The juice from a cucumber
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric (5 grams)

Course of action

  • Combine the cucumber juice with a teaspoon of turmeric and apply it on the affected area. Let it work for half an hour.
  • The turmeric will act as a mild scrub, which will remove all dead skin cells.
  • The treatment is very mild, so you can apply it twice a week.

Potato juice

The juice from potatoes when cut out is considered to be a natural bleaching agent. It can help fight dark spots on the skin when applied directly.

The results of this treatment are gradual but progressive, so be patient.

  • Take a potato and run it through a food processor.
  • Store the juice in a plastic container with a lid in the refrigerator.
  • To apply it, dip a cotton cloth in the liquid and  place on the affected area for one hour.
  • After that time you can rinse with warm water.

One can apply this treatment every day.

Baby powder

Using deodorants that contain alcohol and antiperspirants can irritate one’s skin.

A good way to care for this delicate area and avoid dark spots is to  replace these products with baby powder.

It absorbs moisture so one’s armpits will stay dry. You also do not have to worry about body odor.

If you still feel insecure about the smell, you can use lemon together with baby powder.

If you choose to do so, use the lemon first. Then you can use baby powder when the area is dry.

Grow your armpits

When you use a scraper, it irritates the skin and people usually do not give it enough time to heal.

Although scrapers are the fastest method, they are not the best. Growing will remove the hairs and dead skin cells.
