The weekends and holidays tend to be the times when the “disasters” happen that we never thought about during the week. Unfortunately, two days of play can counteract five days of exercise. It can ruin all the good work that you have done during the week.

You may be asking yourself how you can have healthy habits and at the same time have fun on the weekend. Here are some tips for  weekend swans that will help you lose weight.

We tend to think that a weekend of enjoyment after such a long and exhausting week will not hurt. And that is right. That’s not a bad thing at all. However, if you want to lose weight, your choices matter. The following tips will help you. Follow them and lose yourself.

Lose weight by adapting your weekend habits in 5 ways

1. Dance

Dancing is an excellent activity to lose weight. If you have danced for a long time before, then you probably know how exhausted it can make you. However, when we talk about dancing,  we are not talking about partying and drinking.

If your goal is to lose weight, then alcohol and fatty foods will not help you. If you want a cold drink when you dance or are at a party, we recommend water or juice. Dancing is good for all parts of you – physically, mentally and emotionally.

All the constant movement not only helps to burn calories, but also:

  • Improves heart health
  • Activates your metabolism
  • Strengthens your bones and joints
  • Improves your agility

In addition, you usually dance with people so you can also work on your social skills and relationships at the same time. And these things are important to keep depression and anxiety at bay.

2. Lose weight by going on trips with the family

Going on trips with family or friends to do physical activities together is a great way to lose weight over the weekend. Planning walks and excursions with others will encourage you to go out and actually do them. You want to burn calories and move your body.

You could say that it’s a bit like going to the gym at the weekend:  you want to do cardio workouts, which is obviously good for your heart and burns calories.

If you exercise a lot during the week or your work involves a lot of physical effort, then your weekend activity will be a good continuation of that. As a bonus, group activities are always a great way to socialize.

3. Go on a shopping trip

As crazy as it may sound, it can actually help you lose weight if you go on a shopping trip. Getting a lot of walking and  getting off and on clothes keeps your metabolism going,  burns calories and trains your muscles.

It is very similar to running or dancing. In fact, it’s mostly like dancing, since it’s good for your social skills too. Shopping and knowing that you are losing weight while shopping will also be good for your mood.

Of course  , it does not have the same effect as high-intensity training,  but it will give results. We have all felt tired after being out shopping and that is not a coincidence.

4. Lose weight with healthy recipes

We can not go out every weekend, whatever it is for health reasons the weather. However, that does not mean that you can do nothing to lose weight. Investigate foods that are good for you, and then spend time trying new recipes. It will keep you busy all weekend and also be useful for the following week!

You can replace refined flour with whole grain flour,  and choose healthier alternatives to sugar, such as stevia or honey. You can also try drinking vegetable milk instead of dairy products. Do not forget that dairy products contain a lot of fat and sugar, which are harmful and not something you want if you want to lose weight.

5. Have fun with your better half

Include your family or your better half in your weekend activities. It will improve your motivation and chances of losing weight significantly. You can involve your partner in all the activities we have mentioned above. Dance with them, take them shopping, cook together and go on trips together. Lose weight and have fun at once!
